About continuous recording

Continuous recording availability

Continuous recording depends on the camera model and its supported storage and recording modes. Connecting a battery camera to a charger or solar panel does not by itself enable continuous recording.

Recording duration and storage

Available recording time depends on usable storage capacity, resolution, bitrate and recording settings. A capacity such as 32 GB does not guarantee a fixed number of hours across all cameras. Where loop recording is supported and enabled, older recordings may be overwritten when storage fills.

Protecting recordings

Download important footage before it is overwritten or before changing storage. Use a compatible card with the capacity and file system specified for the exact model. Formatting erases recordings and should only be performed when needed, after backing up accessible files and accepting the loss of remaining data.

After replacing a card, check that the camera recognizes it, the intended recording mode is enabled, and a new test recording can actually be played. A detected card alone does not confirm that recording is working.
