# Noorio App FAQ: Battery, Charging & Solar

Battery life and power use

Battery life depends on the model, event frequency, recording duration, live-view use, signal quality and temperature. Model-specific laboratory figures are not a guarantee for every installation. Improve weak Wi-Fi and adjust unnecessary triggers while retaining the required detection coverage. Cloud storage is not a remedy for battery drain.

Charging and an unresponsive camera

Use the adapter and cable specified for the exact model. For a compatible rechargeable camera with a depleted battery, the indicator may stay off initially. Charge for about 10 minutes and check again. If there is still no response, continue to a total of about 3 hours, then hold SYNC/RESET for about 10 seconds and observe the indicator or voice response. Older IVP models use SYNC; newer models use RESET. Three hours is a diagnostic checkpoint, not proof of full charge; a depleted battery may need at least 8 hours, depending on the model. Always-powered cameras require continuous power.

Charging ports, battery construction, indicator colours and operating temperatures vary by model. Use the exact model's guide. Do not pry open the housing or assume a battery is user-replaceable. Properly reseal any charging-port cover after charging. Offline battery information is only the last reported state.

Solar panel installation

Fully charge the camera first and use a compatible panel. Choose an unshaded position with adequate sunlight, generally tilted 30–45 degrees. Clean surface dust to avoid affecting normal power supply, and check dry, secure, properly sealed connections. Use a solar-power setting only where the camera's app provides it.

Solar charging checks

Compare sunlight, shading, connector condition and the result of charging through the camera's specified adapter. A cross-test is useful only with a known compatible device and where safely accessible. Do not connect an arbitrary phone or climb to a dangerous location for testing. Solar input varies with weather and use and may not promptly recover a deeply depleted battery. Persistent charging problems require technical review of the model, power supply and observed behaviour.
