# How to resolve the issue of CL200 not recognizing the SD card?

Check the camera and card

Card compatibility depends on the full camera model, supported card type and capacity. A card that has never been recognized needs a different check from one that stopped working after previously recording normally. The memory-card page shows the current reported status.

Protect existing recordings

Do not format or clear a card that may contain needed recordings. Back up accessible footage before changing storage.

Connection and compatibility checks

If reseating is appropriate, turn off the camera before removing or inserting the card. Restore power and check the card status again. A known-good compatible card can help narrow down the cause, but failure with one or more cards does not by itself prove that the original card or camera slot is faulty.

Formatting
